Transforvolving arrived?

The inspiration I’ve got to design this site came last year. I bumped into a contest organized by colourlovers.com in partnership with a new stock photography website at the time, “Lucky Oliver”. The contest involved downloading photos (with no copyright restrictions) from “Lucky Oliver” and creating a color palette for it in colourlovers.com.

After the contest [nope, I didn't win anything] I saved all my color palettes anyway, in case I’d use them later. For all designers by heart out there, one of the great things @colourlovers.com—get inspired + create a color palette + save it = design something!

I chose the colors of this palette because they give a sense of equilibrium [at least to me]. Staring from the left side of the spectrum with warm colors and ending in the right side with cool colors. Also, I personally enjoy working with high contrasted colors and images, hence you see this reflected in the whole website theme.

Colors communicate and mean so much to each one of us. They influence our state of mind and way to digest what we eat with our eyes in the everyday life. They define our personalities from the clothes, shoes, accessories one wears, to the furniture and decoration one has at home and work.

For the site’s theme I added many blacks and whites to the palette. I wanted to highlight even more that sense of balance, and additionally state some minimalism [ever heard of the motto "less is more"?]. It was only justifiable to me, since in general that’s exactly how I like to base my life on.

By now (if you already took a ride in ilithya.net), you probably have more than just a vague idea of how I am, assuming that you haven’t met me. Companies and brands work out equally, displaying their personalities through everything we see—packages, buildings, websites, commercials, ads, lobbies, waiting rooms, instruction booklets, etc.

I named this website’s theme: “transforvolving” [read further in mysite].
