Thanks for sharing more ways to stream free music over the Internet Jessi!
I didn't know those two. I think another time I'll write about the sites available online to stream non so much commercial music and more underground.
The following site is great for that (even when they're currently working on the development): Muxtape.

Hi Diana, what a great article! I'm sure there are folks who didn't know how to get started, and you just helped them.

How about http://freemusicarchive.org ? Their music is all 100% free, and it's even really good! There's tons of interesting stuff from all kinds of independent musicians -- experimental, folk, rock, hip-hop, electronic, jazz, world -- and there are even a few big names there. I encourage you to start listening, downloading, and even sign up for a free account and start making playlists if you want.

And this one: http://wfmu.org -- WFMU is a free-format radio station, their DJs can play whatever weird or obscure stuff they want, and tons of their shows are archived and streamable! I'm fond of Downtown Soulville with Mr. Finewine, the Bitslap podcast, oh and so many more...

Happy streaming!
